Harbiye Military Museum

The Harbiye Military Museum is one of Istanbul's most important history and culture museums. The museum presents thousands of artifacts related to Ottoman and Turkish military history to its visitors. Its collection includes weapons, armor, banners, uniforms, war vehicles, and many historical artifacts from the Ottoman period. It is a significant cultural center, particularly attracting both domestic and foreign tourists with its Janissary band concerts.

What to Expect: Over 5.000 items on display, including Ottoman tents, cannons, weaponry, the chains that blocked the Golden Horn in 1453, and a dedicated room designed as Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's cadet classroom.

Mehter Performance: Don't miss the live performance of the Mehter Band (Ottoman Military Band), the oldest military band in the world. It typically takes place in the early afternoon.
