Troy Museum

The Troy Museum presents archaeological findings related to the famous city described in Homer’s Iliad.

Opened in 2018 near the ancient city in Çanakkale, the Troy Museum (Troya Müzesi) is a contemporary, award-winning museum showcasing artifacts from Troy and the Troad region. The building, designed with a rusted steel facade to look like it is emerging from the ground, spans 11,200 square meters and features 7 sections documenting 4,000 years of history, including gold jewelry, sculptures, and pottery.

• Location: The museum is located in Tevfikiye Village, Çanakkale, right next to the archaeological site of Troy.
• Design & Architecture: The structure, designed by Ömer Selçuk Baz, features a modern, minimalist design with a ramp guiding visitors through different layers of Troy’s history.
• Exhibition Content: The exhibition is divided into seven topics, covering the Troy region's archaeology, Bronze Age, Iliad Epic, Troas/Ilion in the ancient period, Roman/Ottoman periods, and the history of excavations.
• Key Artifacts: The collection includes over 2,000 pieces, such as pottery, clay lamps, gold jewelry, grave stelae, and inscriptions discovered during excavations.
• Visiting Info: The museum is open daily. Summer hours are generally 08:30–20:00 (May-Oct), and winter hours are 08:30–17:30.
